I am a fifth generation Oregonian, born and raised in Cottage Grove, Oregon. I received my Bachelor’s Degree from Oregon State University in 1975 and my Law Degree from the University of Oregon in 1979. I’ve practiced law as a successful trial lawyer in Oregon for over 37 years.
My law career began as a prosecutor with the Coos County, Oregon District Attorney’s Office. After one year of prosecuting misdemeanor cases, I was promoted to Chief Deputy District Attorney where I successfully prosecuted felony criminal cases for the next nine years. Also at this time, I was the administrator of the Coos County District Attorney Family Support Office.
I entered private practice in 1989 and began handling family law cases. My family and I moved to Bend, OR in 1991, starting my own law firm in Bend in 1993. Since 1991, I’ve successfully represented clients throughout Central and Eastern Oregon. Currently, I am practicing law in Bend, Oregon.
Since 2002, I’ve been a fellow in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, a nationwide organization of top attorneys handling family law cases. I currently serve as treasurer for the Oregon chapter of AAML. My memberships also include the Oregon State Bar Family Law Section and the Deschutes County Family Law Advisory Committee.
I have been selected to the Oregon Super Lawyer list each year since it’s inception in 2006. Only 5% of lawyers in the state of Oregon are selected each year.
I have an AVVO rating of 10.0 out of 10.0, which is the highest rating available.
In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, hunting, fishing and photography.
